Karosa Minerals is pleased to offer this gorgeous piece of Kambaba Jasper Kambaba Jasper (sometimes called Kabamba Jasper) is a new orbicular jasper from Madagascar, the same place that Ocean Jasper comes from. It is a beautiful green jasper that takes a great polish. This is going to be a very popular mineral. It seems that Madagascar has a never-ending supply of incredible minerals. Each dark circle in the stone is a Stromatolite. Stromatolites are the oldest macroscopic evidence of life on Earth. I had never seen this Jasper until a few weeks ago. I walked into my supplier's retail store and he had several large polished stones on display. One of them was so striking that it immediately caught my eye, and I decided that I would buy it unless it was super expensive. It was one of these K-Jaspers. I walked across the store to ask him what it was and how much it cost. When I turned around again, it was gone. The woman who walked into the store after me grabbed it as soon as she saw it. Fortunately, the owner had more in the back room, and was kind enough to sell me a few. About Karosa Minerals I have a passion for minerals, and have been collecting for over 45 years. Recently, I decided to sell minerals on Ebay in order to help expand my collection. My supplier deals in only the highest quality material, obtained from a network of premier dealers from around the globe. Pieces in his store sell for thousands and thousands of dollars, and he also donates specimens to museums. He carries top grade labradorite, sodalite, brazilian agate, ocean jasper, septarian, and amethyst, as well as many others along with raw minerals. Similarly, I collect only the highest quality specimens. My guiding principle for Karosa Minerals is that "If I wouldn't buy it, I will not sell it." I sell only natural, undyed specimens. I am a fanatic about polish. Whether it be a carnelian sp, or a malachite plate, or a piece of bruneau jasper, nothing spoils a beautiful specimen worse than a substandard polish. Every specimen that I sell, unless specifically noted, has a high gloss polish. Also, if I can find any detail in a stone that I think a potentional buyer could possibly consider to be a negative, I will note it. I want my customers to be excited about each piece that they buy. I would rather underpromise on a specimen and have you be thrilled when you open your box, than risk you being the slightest bit disappointed. Thanks very much for looking at this auction, and please email me if you have any questions at all. Specifics of this Specimen This piece of Kambaba Jasper weighs 13.8 ounces. (The price range of limited offerings that I have seen for nicely shaped and polished pieces has been anyw between $50 and $150 per pound, and that includes some not so good rock.) This is the best grade of the stone available, and is all natural and not dyed. Dimensions in inches are approximately 4.25 long by 2 wide by 2 high at the extremes. The piece has a high gloss hand polish over the entire surface. It sort of resembles a huge tumble polished rock in nature, and looks spectacular under halogen lighting (I strongly recommend halogen lighting for viewing your specimens if you have that option available). T are some small spots of a tannish/brownish color and t in the rock which is normal. These seem to show more in the photos than in person. The pictures were taken in bright sunlight. The stone will look somewhat darker in your indoor lighting.
