This is a really fabulous large (11" x 6") victorian beaded pin cushion c. 1860. The fabric of the boot or shoe is a purple velvet - very smooth in places - with lots of heavily raised beading depicting leaves and flowers. The inside opens to put I assume your faviorite sewing scissors inside. The bottom two flower centers are a rose and a yellow - t is a branch in the top section that has some green beads worked into it - very striking. All the rest of the beading is a clear with a white cast. Now for issues - t are places w the beads are missing - after all it is approx. 150 years old - I do notice around the edge of boot a blanket stitch of beads is missing in quite a few places - don't know if this is intentional or not. Also the back of the cushion which is brown velvet much of this flocking is missing. On the back of piece t is a strip of fabric sewn across for hanging on the wall - the velvet is split under this - but t is a lining underneath. They should have known t was too much weight for such a small strip of fabric to hold this heavy piece oin the wall. So you need to know condition is not perfect in any way - but beading of the flowers is very strong and thick on front of the piece. Still a very large and impressive piece for that victorian sewing collector. Buyer to pay $8.00 shipping (insurance is include in this price
