From a wonderful estate sale at a lovely old house, this toleware tray is unmarked but it is just gorgeous! My best guess is that it dates to c.1950. It's a large (though not huge) size, measuring a generous 18 3/4" x 15". The background is a muted green while the edge is scalloped and trimmed in gold -- and t is a golden pattern painted on the rim. I am pretty positive that this is a hand painted piece and the center floral spray is just outstanding in color, design, and technique -- a riot of pink, peach, white, and lavender roses and other flowers. This tray is in very good condition. T is gold rubbed off the edge trim. T are a couple of small worn spots on the front and - as you can see in the inset below - the back shows a fair amount of wear. Otherwise it's in great condition and looks near perfect on display.
