Up for your bidding pleasure is an absolutely gorgeous opal deco ring. This setting is guaranteed to be an authentic antique deco platinum (marked) piece, estimated period 1900-1930. I purchased the setting from an aquaintance that owns an antique jewelry store. I bought the setting 2-3 years ago, and searched for the perfect opal to compliment it. The center OPAL is NOT original to the ring, it was purchased NEW and set into the ring. I had searched a long time for just the right setting and opal. I anticipated wearing this ring much more than I have, but being that I work with dogs, it's not terribly feasible. I have decided to sell it because it is much too beautiful a ring to sit in my jewelry box. What struck me most about the setting was it's delicacy and uniqueness. The Opal is a lovely, natural 8x10, 3 ml thick Australian Crystal Opal. The main colors are green and orange, with lovely blue and purple highlights. The estimated carat size is about 2.5-3 carats. The opal is set lengthwise in what I would call a semi bezel setting (T are four "prongs" that are each about 4 mls wide-they had to be slightly amended to accomodate the new center stone). The opal is set fairly high and is accented by 20 small diamonds around the head of the setting and two slightly larger diamonds set at the top of the shank on each side. T are 16 small ruby baguettes set into the head (see pictures). Unfortunately these are the best pictures I can get with my camera. The upper shank has an acanthus leaf motif carved into the paltinum. The ring will be sent in the presentation box shown in pictures. If it is being sent to someone as a gift, I would be happy to gift wrap it at no additional charge. Please note that the setting is a genuine antique, and as such shows appropriate wear. The bottom of the shank is 1-2 mls wide, as it is meant to be a delicate looking ring. The ring is currently a size 7. No stones are missing-one of the small diamonds was replaced. A realistic (not inflated) appraisal of this ring is at least $2000.00. The reserve is set at 750.00, which is extremely reasonable. Please see pictures, review description and ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING, as this purchase will be final. This item will not be relisted-Shipping and insurance will be offered free within the contiguous United States. International shipping (insurance required) will be offered atat the buyer's expense, and will have to be quoted based on location. THANK YOU KINDLY FOR LOOKING!
