FOR the VIOLET LOVERS.... an ELEGANT and truly EXQUISITE piece! This piece is fabulous used on a dresser as a trinket holder or jewelry box with a piece of velvet or silk placed in the bottom ! This is a beautiful large tureen with gorgeous clusters of rich handpainted Victorian Violets painted on all sides! The background color is light green. The heavily gilded handles are bow and ribbon shaped too! It is signed and dated by the artist "Syrvia" ?(hard to decipher) on the bottom. The original mold has exquisite raised detail through-out. The gilding shows almost no wear at all. It is marked with the Haviland Limoges France Mark 12, this dates 1894 to 1931. Size: 10" x 8" x 5 1/4" tall" Condition: EXCELLENT original- no chips or cracks . Remember this helpful hint~ Limoges is hard paste porcelain. It does not ever craze, that is one of the reasons why it is so valueable. So if you ever see a Limoges piece listed as having crazing, it is either not Limoges or it has a spider crack. I try to only show other pieces in the background that will be coming available or currently listed. If you love Limoges, please see my "ME" page and "sellers other auctions" for more hand painted Limoges and Bavaria beauties!
