Wonderful Christmas Crib Nativity made in 1933 by Badger Carton Co., published by Concordia Publishing House, Saint Louis, Missouri. "Sixteen Beatifully Colored Pieces Providing a Five Foot Scene of the Nativity"...These pieces are all included, made of heavy cardboard with washable finish, all easel backs work extremely well, a tape repair and t, images are still crisp, bright and gorgeous!!! The star on the roof needs a little creativity for back support. The box has been repaired several times but it is hanging in strong!
T was a Christmas card included with this set...(Nativity was found at an estate auction, by the way)...thought it was worth sharing..."To Whomever-As I pack this Nativity scene away this time I thought I should date it for you. (she dated it 1988 at the top of the card) It was purchased in December 1940 when Joe was 1 yr. old. It has been in use every year since then at Christmas time. The packing paper is the original. The tying string too, but it is frayed. We wanted to help Joe get acquainted with the characters invoved in the Christmas story. Also, to learn the story itself and begin to know what it means. It is so much more important than the commercial side of Christmas. We felt so then and still feel that way. Love you, Mom" Please email with any questions and Happy Bidding on this rare beauty! T are also some other Christmas treasures from the same estate listed in other auctions and I will combine shipping on multiple items whenever I can to save you money!
