You are bidding on a set of three amazing STW Bavarian Porcelian (MC 801) plates that feature Fragonard Courting Couple Scenes. Each plate highlights a large court couple scene in the center with 14 different courting couple scenes on the outer rim of the plates. The plate is then inlaid with heavy gilt gold, so heavy that you can feel it across the plate and then the rim is gold with an extra inlay of gold on the sides to give it that slightly oblong shape. These plates have the exact feel and look of fine Limoge China. The plates featured are hunter green, cranberry, and pink. The plates are 11.5 inches across and 11 inches high. They are in excellent condition with no cracks or paint chipping. The stamp on the back is STW Bavaria Germany and in gold is the STW symbol/stamp along with the numbers MC 801 to dictate which series these are. These plates are rare and I just obtained them from an estate sale in Madison Park, the wealthy area of Seattle. I was thinking of selling them separately, but felt they really are a set and should stay together. They will certainly be the highlight of any fine porcelain china cabinet.
