Today I am selling a Sun Purple Oil, Kerosene Lamp. The lamp was manufactured somew between the mid 1860's to about 1915. The glass manufactures of this time used manganese in their glass and over time it absorbs the Ultra violet rays of light and turns purple. This lamp is approximately 11 inches tall to the top of the burner, 5 inches across the base, 4 inches across the top of the font and 17 inches tall overall. T is an eight pointed star pattern in the base and the entire base has a slight Purple tint to it. T are lots of bubbles in the glass, one straw mark on the inside of the font. It does show its age, it is rough around the bottom edge of the lamp with several small chips and some flea bites. You can tell it was well used. It has the original collar and an Eagle #1 Burner with a purple stitch wick. This lamp is complete and ready to be used or just sit around and look pretty. Now for the boring stuff. Please contact me within three days of the end of the auction to let me know your method of payment. I accept Paypal (prefered), Money Orders and Cashiers Checks. Sorry no Personal checks. Payment is expected within 10 days of the close of the auction. Shipping weight is approximately three pounds. I will wrap the lamp and globe seperately in bubble wrap and then pack them in peanuts. Insurance is not mandatory however it is recommended. I will not be responsible for damage caused by the USPS. I you have an other questions please feel free to contact me I will do my best to answer them. Thank you for looking and remember, Bid early and bid often.
