This lovely porcelain vase designed by Bjorn Wiinblad features a mythological woman, possibly a fairy, among very large flowers. She may be Titania from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" among the milkweed, although the vase is not marked as such. This lady is drawn in gold and silver on white, all on a soft apple or celadon green ground. The vase is artist signed in gold on the front, while the base is stamped "Rosenthal Studio-linie, Germany" and again signed Bjorn Wiinblad. It is a tall, graceful oval cylinder shape, measuring 8-1/4" tall by 3" wide by 2" deep. The vase is in like new condition. I believe it dates from the 60's - the woman from whom I purchased it said it had been one of her mother's treasures, and she was downsizing and had to let it go, and none of her grown children were interested in it. It would make a stunning addition to your Eames era, Scandinavian modern pottery collection! I meticulously inspect each piece, and describe as thoroughly as possible everything I find regarding the condition. My items come from a pet free, smoke free home. Shipping is via Priority Mail. Since everything suitable has been recycled from my basement, I've had to add a small packing materials fee, ranging between $0.50 and $3.00, depending on the size and number of items in the auction. I try my best to keep costs low. Although I pack very carefully, insurance is required for all glass and pottery. Your total cost is shown in the calculator.
