GREAT Antique KARASTAN Rug When we list a karastan rug on ebay, we do sell a real KARASTAN rug, no WILTON rug with karastan rug label, made for The Karastan Company(The karastan rug company get % out of it). A new real karastan 9x12 cost $3000-$5000 unless its FACTORY DEFECT or with some problem. we see many 'new karastan' around, these new rugs are Wilton rugs with glue on the back to hold the pile and not like the old type karastan rugs, they are chemically washed with Lead to soften the harsh colors and most are with poor quality wool with nylon with poor cheap dye, you can smell the rug, its smell like gas you use in your car(lead), just used these new karastan New rugs and see how they look after a year or so, the real Karastan ANTIQUE rugs from 1980s and before are not the same like those new "Karastan Rugs" you see around. The rug has no wear, smell, or stain and has been professionally hand cleaned and shampooed by hand, the rug is with original fringe, the pile looks like was made YESTERDAY, the only small problem we see on this rug, on one side t is a small cut into the border maybe 1/2" looks like they had a telepone line goes on the side, its hard to see it(see in detail 2 images 4th and 5th pictures from the top) and we telling you in order to be 100% correct.The rug is in open fielf med kerman design with ivory gold field, with blue, rose, pink,maroon,the colors aged perfectly.
