WHAT A LOVELY SET OF EARLY 19th CENTURY LARGE MEAT FORKS! EACH IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of a very good weight indeed and in tip top order too. Here we have a quite exceptional and quite lovely set of solid silver dinner forks of quite sensational gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear. Each is assayed in London and 5 are dated 1819 (year letter d) and and these are by very good makers William Eley and William Fearn-refer to Jackson's pocket edition page 80.The other is by maker William Chawner and dated 1828-year letter n. This is a lovely late George III lot and a must have. A really delightful and scarce set! Their length is quite large at 8 inches. These lovely spoons are of exceptional quality and each is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver. Pattern is FIDDLE AND THREAD DOUBLE STRUCK.This is a popular and highly sought after traditional pattern. Weight of actual silver is a sublime 524 grams (16.85 troy ounces),each piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. The condition is superb and they are of superior quality and condition.The tines are of perfect shape being long,sharp and perfectly even.Each is engraved to the back with a quite beautiful and most unusual crest of a cross and always has been,definitely no erasures either. I have listed also a set of 6 large serving spoons with the very same crest. Please note that i have listed many other good items of both modern and antique silver,please do have a look. A truly beautiful,special and most wonderful lot. Would be ideal for making up a canteen of this popular pattern. PERFECT FOR USE ALL YEAR ROUND,DINE IN REAL STYLE!
