WHAT A LOVELY MID 19th CENTURY SAUCE LADLE! IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of a very good weight indeed and a really special piece of antique silver. Here we have a quite exceptional and heavy solid silver sauce ladle of quite sensational gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear. It is assayed in London and dated 1848 (year letter n) and has a maker's mark for very good lady maker Elizabeth Eaton-refer to Jackson's pocket edition page 53. This is a lovely early Victorian lot and a must have. A really delightful and scarce piece! Their length is quite large at 7 inches. These lovely ladle is of exceptional quality and is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver. Pattern is FIDDLE THREAD AND SHELL DOUBLE STRUCK.This is a popular and highly sought after traditional pattern. Weight of actual silver is a sublime 89 grams (2.86 troy ounces),this piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. The condition is superb and it is of superior quality and condition.The bowl is of perfect shape with a thick unworn rim.It is engraved with a lion rampant crest and always has been,definitely no erasures either. Please note that i have listed many other good items of both modern and antique silver,please do have a look. A truly beautiful,special and most wonderful lot. Would make a great present perhaps?
