Most Seth Thomas collectors consider an 8 bell Westminster as the crown of their collections. Most everybody likes an antique with excellent presentation, especially with inlay. This is the Seth Thomas, "No. 261" circa 1913 chime clock. 13 3/4"T x 10 1/8"W x 7 1/2"D. This particular clock has been running without fault, keeping good time, chiming correctly and striking correctly, on a display shelf, for the last 8 weeks. Beautifully refinished ribbon mahogany case with exceptionally clear and deep graining. A triple line of inlay, light/dark/light, outlines the front of the case including the gracefully curved doric "bee hive" top. Original bezel with original thick beveled glass. Underneath the dial is an attractive inlaid design. The dial shows very little wear except by the time and strike winding holes. The raised bronze numbers are mint and were a premium feature. Original hands. Bezel snaps shut tight. The case has the predictable minor dings of an antique, the most prominent of which is on the side of the case w the chime controls are.
