Offered here is a great looking, large, 1615 gram (3-1/2 pound) unclassified North West Africa (NWA) stony meteorite. This stone is in its uncleaned desert-preserved state and exhibits a rugged exterior surface consisting of a dark crust with numerous ridges, thumbprints and visible surface veins. Impact cracks and an area of interior matrix oxidation is also noticable. This large, stony meteorite with its many visual characteristics makes for a great display and is priced economically at under $0.18 per gram. This specimen is a fine example of a NWA meteorite and measures approximately 5-1/2 inches x 4 inches x 3 inches.

NWA meteorites are thought to be among the oldest rocks of the solar system. Their composition is characterized by chondrules or small spheres of formerly molten minerals that have merged with other mineral matter to form a solid rock. Often referred to as a "common chondrite" this space specimen would be a great collection starter or a nice addition to your other meteorite finds.
