"Harvest Church", wonderful little French Impressionist Oil, possibly Normandy , 15" x 12" framed 10" x 7" worked area Unsigned work Note Super little French Oil Painting , the depiction showing harvested and stacked straw in an evening field, early Autumn auburns and deep greens and browns surround a Norman Church in the background scene This is a wonderful little study , very nicely painted indeed by an artist who clearly has studied this genre carefully, it carries great depth and wonderful use of shadow and perspectives in the stacks. We acquired this this in France and assume it to be around the turn of the century judging by the style of the stacks , very French, very subtle and an extremely pretty and very decorative painting Condition The painting is in overall good condition the colours are good and well in evidence , there is no loss to the paint visible and it is tidy The painting however is quite dirty with discolouration to the over varnish , and whilst this does in some way add to its charm , it would really benefit from a clean to restore the bright state of its potential The frame is a pretty little thing , wooden deep scroll and stipple, some loss in part and has been painted in gilt, it is though solid Detail All our paintings are described honestly and all efforts are made to supply quality images to highlight
