SUPER Original Occupational Photo Street Construction Crew Paving Road Chicago, IL ca. 1915-1920 RARE - original American ORIGINAL Photograph! Vintage, Old, antique, Original - NOT a Reproduction - Guaranteed !! . Scarce ! Shows men working on the street , pouring cement paving the road! Great action photography, capturing a moment in the olden days. No ID, butI believe this is Chicago, Illinois (came with others from Chicago). Can read sign in background, right side - Grocery store - gives name of Scanland. Some men look to be black ( African American ). Super neat looking machine they are using . Gas engine? Nice architecture buildings on street. This photo, along with many others I purchased, came directly from the files of the Foote Company in Nunda , NY ( New York State ), which was in existence at the end of the 19th century, and well into the 20th century. They were a construction equipment Co. (also known as Blaw knox Co. ) that produced many style of machines for the purpose of paving. The machine in this photo was made by the Foote Company in Nunda N.Y. (Livingston County ). Multifoote Pavers were some of the first machines used to pave roads , before and after the depression .
