A very unusual small vintage wooden chest that has been hand painted in the style of a Victorian Royal Mail box. The item has a domed top and small carying handles at each side. There is a slot in the front (as if for posting letters). The box has some old chips and knocks to the paintwork and has evidence of old wornworm damage to two of the outer sides of the base (this has been treated as a precaution). This is a reasonably small chest, measuring 17 inches (43.2cm) by 11.2 inches (28.5cm) around the outside of the ledge of the base. It is 11.4 inches (29.2cm) high. The interior is clean. This would make a great statement piece anywhere in the house and would be useful to store all manner of small items (as a sewing box, storage of a few shoes etc). This is a bulky item which would be sent via Parcelforce - so please not e the postage cost. Although these do cost a little more, they offer better service and protection for items, so are worth the extra cost in case of any problems. I will combine postage for multiple items, provided they can be safely packed together. NON UK BIDDERS : In theory we are happy to ship most items overseas, but those which are large and/or heavy can be very expensive via UK shipping channels. If you wish to bid from overseas and do not see a postage price for your destination in the listing, please contact us and we will send a shipping estimate. Items are priced for postage by Volumetric Weight : height x width x length. Please also note that your local customs office may levy an import duty, which you will need to pay. CONDITION : We try to describe any specific flaws accurately, but as all the items we sell are antique or vintage, they will show some signs of wear and tear.
