We are listing this superb 1805-1825 Georgian glazed stoneware mug sprigged with drinkers and smokers (commonly called Topers) made by Davenport. The mug is marked on the bottom with a clear impressed Davenport over an anchor mark which dates to the early 1800s. A Davenport jug with the same sprigs and makers mark is pictured and described on page 94 of An Illustrated Guide to British Jugs (and dated to 1805-1825). The mug is less than 3 inches tall, over 4.5 inches at its widest point, has very well done sprigs and engine turning above its base, and it is in very good condition (with only some tiny brown glaze losses on the rim). Please see the closeup pictures and judge for yourself. This is a wonderful 200 year old Georgian mug.We can currently only accept bids on this from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Shipping to the United Kingdom and Canada will be charged at cost. Payment must be made by Paypal within three days of the auction ending.Be sure to check out our other current and upcoming auctions of hundreds of antique and vintage objects in glass, pottery, porcelain, silver, etc.!
