Early signed MAPPIN Depose piece has a fantastic little pull out lever for the sundial that folds neatly back into place. The compass is in excellent working condition and it has a clip that would hold it onto a pocket or belt and roman numerals neatly etched into the sundial. We have had a couple experts look at it and it is not determined if it is made from solid silver or silver plated. It has been agreed that this piece dates at least from the 1920's. The name MAPPIN is impressed into the back along with the word Depose. (Depose means that a trademark has been applied for). Just a superb and unusual piece with all the quality you would expect. We will respond to any buyers within 24 hours. See more info about Mappin Jewelers below. Thanks.
