This is a superb carved pair of bellows, which, during our research, we have been informed they date early 19th century and they are of Black Forest origin. Wonderful fine carving to the front with the overall intricate decoration of a lions head. Other intricate carving to the top. Plain wooden rear. The bellows have an overall size of about 17.5inches with an overall width of about of about 7inches. Depth of about 1.5inches. Certainly a wonderful carving to the bellows to the front of the lions head. Considering the age, the overall condition to the wood area of the bellows is excellent with no major blemishes or restoration. They have an inner leather with studded decoration which is subject to detoriation. Would need to be releatd to enable to work properly as a pair of bellows. Besides being a very collectable pair of early 19th century Black Forest carved pair of bellows, would also look fabulous displayed.
