This is a superb carved boy cherub with wings of which during our research we have been informed it is from the early period of the 19th century, of European origin, and is probably of Italian origin. Has been finished in a gesso with the blue robe. Wonderful and intricate carving of the cherub with the wings to the rear. Would have been wall mounted, this is confirmed with a small hole to the rear. Has an overall height of about 18.5inches with a max width of about 12inches. Depth of about 5.75inches. A solid and heavy carving. Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition is excellent and has the only blemish of an age crack to the rear to the wing with an early repair to the rear of the left hand and arm. Besides being a very collectable and quite superb European carved boy cherub with the wings, would also look fabulous displayed.
