This is a superb 19th century Black Forest architectural oak carved pine cone finial Excellent attention to carved detail on this large and beautifully carved finial. Scrolling acanthus leaves cradling the tall pine cone. Further acanthus leaves decorate the base with beaded detail above. All carving in relief. Carved in two sections. Measures some 12.5" x 3.75" x 5" across at the base. 14.5" max circumference at pine cone just above the acanthus leaves which cradle the cone. Excellent and lovely age commensurate condition with a bit of old damage at base to one side. All as per images. A superb collectable 19thc Black Forest oak carved finial.
