A superb 19thc Staffordshire figure of a sailor's farewell. The figure has excellent attention to detail with sailor and wife . The sailor is preparing to depart and has a yellow knotted handkerchief at end of cane. His wife has her arm through his and her other arm on his shoulder. Wonderful subject matter. The figure is highly glazed with really fine and bold colours. Particularly lovely facial detail to both. Height some 8" x 5.5" long at base. Condition is excellent and age commensurate with a little bit of pitting/discolouration to back of figure as images show. A superb 19th century Staffordshire figure of a sailor and his wife bidding him farewell. A fine addition to any Staffordshire collection.
