- ANTIQUE AMERICAN SWORD Superb Antique early 19th century American infantry officer's Eagle Head Sword having a straight single edged blade with fuller and spear point finely engraved and gilt on a blued background with garlands and trophies and foliage, inscribed at the forte with the maker's initials. A silver plated brass hilt with curved knuckle bow, shell guard adorned by a large eagle with a shield on the breast, fluted bone grips and an eagle head pommel. CONDITION: The sword is in good condition considering its age with minor wear with its original silver plating and blued finish. MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 93 cm (36 5/8 in), length of the blade: 81 cm (31 7/8 in). PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION.
