CLASSIC A+ ANTIQUE CAUCASIAN AKSTAFA PEACOCK LONG CARPET, Shirvan district of the Transcaucasus Mountains, Dated 1321, or 1904 in our Gregorian calendar, and in excellent overall condition for the collector. The exact size is: 3'-9" x 11'-2" (114 x 340 cm). Outstanding scale and drawing accomplished in the creation of this antique Akstafa beauty. 100% natural, vegetable-derived, dyes and wonderful high pile condition with only minor lower (but NOT worn) pile areas. Some reweaving with recycled antique wool only to the red & yellow outermost pin guard stripes at both the top and bottom ends. If I did not tell you this, you would not see the repair work because of its quality. The ends have been sewn back secure to prevent future loss of knots and the carpet is now aesthetically appealing to the eye. Original two-cord wool side over-castings. Natural wool warps and ivory cotton wefting. Comes fresh to the market from source acquisition in a most remarkable state of preservation. NO rips, holes, tears, stains, odors, moth damage, stiffness, dryness, color run, or bleeding. A rare and beautiful weaving for the discriminating collector. Ready for immediate floor use.
