SUPERB ANTIQUE GOLD PINK CONCH CAMEO GEORGE & DRAGON NR A fabulous large antique natural pink conch shell cameo beautifully hand carved in high 3 dimensional relief, to depict St. George slaying the dragon, in a solid 9 carat gold (at least, possibly higher) mount for wear as a pin. A superb quality antique cameo brooch, beautifully carved and so impressive - wearable and very collectable! CONDITION : All original and very, very good. Minimal wear, no damage, no chips or cracks etc. A couple of very faint stresses, negligible. Possibly wants a clean and polish. DEFECTS : None. DATE/MARKS : Around 1860/70. Not marked. DIMENSIONS : Mount 69 x 56.5 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or 3/4 of an inch diameter. WEIGHT : Approx. 30.5 grams. our other auctions.
