We have this superb antique cuckoo clock from the German Junghans factory , deep in the heart of clock-making Black Forest area . What is so nice about this clock is that it is an 8 day movement with no messy chains to pull up every 24 hours. For cuckoo clock owners with inquisitve cats , the lack of chains helps keep this clock firmly on the wall , even if the pendulum will mesmerize the cat . A great looking clock that is 23 " tall and 13 " wide . Very good quality carving , detachable top piece ( appears to have been broken and well repaired ) and attractive pendulum. The hands appear to be hand carved bone or ivory . A great movement with the Junghans trade mark of a star and the letter " J " . In excellent working order . The clock has not been serviced for quite afew years ( hint hint ) , but is working well at the moment . Loud strike and the ubiquitous cuckoo call . A great clock , in unusual form . Low start and reasonable reserve for this beauty .
