A striking antique porcelain trio from the Nautilus, Glasgow, Scotland, factory in a hand painted poppies pattern with gilt rim edging dating from around the year 1905; it is unique in having a crimped border edging very rarely found. The factory was short lived, operating only from 1896 to 1913, and produced a range of fine translucent porcelain comparable to Belleek. The cup is in an attractive vertically fluted shape with rope type handle and is two and a quarter inches tall, the saucer width is five and a quarter inches, and the plate width is six and a half inches; the 'Nautilus Porcelain' with monogram factory backstamp is present on the plate only. The condition is excellent and bright with the gilt rim edgings fully in place, each piece having a clear ring and thus confirming the presence of no hidden hairlines; certainly no chips or cracks, nor any fading, scratching, crazing, rubbing or discolouration, and with no restoration. We have a reasonable start price for this fine example of Scottish antique porcelain and there is no reserve.
