For auction is a superb antique sterling silver and malachite bracelet ca 1880. Not marked, as is usual with this type of jewelry at this time, but has been tested and is 925 sterling silver.Likely made in Scotland, but again not marked. The quality of the bracelet is undeniable. The rectangular malachite stations are made up of 4 separate pieces of malachite set in a sterling silver frame with chased silver rectangle on top. Each of the stations are connected by sterling jump rings.Closes securely with a rectangular malachite and silver padlock style closure with Initials hand etched into the back. There is a sterling safety chain attached to each end of the bracelet and going through the padlock. A very nice touch and special at the time as it was more expensive to add. It ensures against loss of the bracelet or padlock. The malachite panels are simply beautiful and their grain is different on each. There are some small flea bites , as is to be expected of bracelets of this age. None of the areas detract from the use or beauty of the bracelet, and have been photographed for your information. The bracelet fits my wrist, which is 8.5 inches, very well and comfortably.Jump rings can be added or removed to adjust the size if needed. This is a very beautiful and rare bracelet with the malachite panels and silver. Please feel free to email read more
