This is a very fine large c.19th English majolica planter which is beautifully decorated with a stag in forest with trees and mountains. All decoration is presented in high relief. The colours are wonderful. Stands on three bun feet. Impressed NO. 4 Stag to base. This is a very beautiful majolica planter of beautiful detail. A decorative border runs around the rim and base areas with medallions in a turquoise. Yellow ground inside planter. The planter is in excellent age commensurate condition with usual age commensurate crazing over, and a very fine hairline near top in one place. This is just visible from inside planter but I cannot see this from outside of planter. This is a large and a very heavy planter of superb quality. Measures some 9" high by some 10" across top of planter. This is a fine, very collectable handsome c.19th majolica stag planter which will make a superb decorative display.
