You are viewing a vintage carved jade set in sterling silver brooch, Asian in origin. This is one truly FANTASTIC piece!! We believe it hails from 1930 or later, and has the old pin and barrel type clasp, in working condition. The piece is carved in the form of a fly, (or possibly cicada), I believe, which is a symbol of good luck-- I think!!! I believe the piece may be Chinese. It measures about 2-1/2" long and is about 1-1/4" at widest ppoint. The carving is quite intricate, detailed and well done. The sterling mount is ornate and intricately done as well. I am told the mount is sterling, but I am still searching for any mark to verify this, and will update the listing when I have that information. The piece is absolutely stunning, and a rarity in this age and form. It is in excellent vintage condition, and ready for your collection, or to wear! Item comes from a smoke-free environment.
