Sankaat is pleased to present for your consideration this SUPERBLY Crafted And Astoundingly Decorated Copeland and Garrett Ewer / Vase! Decorated with crisp rococo molding, with a deep red (magenta) ground, accented with yellow enamel, lavish gilding, and two finely painted landscape scenes. Measuring 8.25 inches high, 4 inches long by 2.5 inches wide, this thin cabinet Ewer, would more have likely been used as a vase. Dating between 1838-1847 (circa 1830), wares like this created by Copeland & Garrett were specially designed to show off beautifully in candlelight, with the dimensional molding on the piece and delicate gilding. The painted landscapes on either side show a English countryside scene of an old abbey (abbey ruins) on one side and a castle among a landscape on the other side. This very scarce and important Copeland and Garrett piece is in EXCELLENT condition, with NO DAMAGE to the molded detailing, or delicate decoration, t is only the most miniscule amount of wear to the gilt featd gilding on the rim of the ewer. This piece is virtually flawless! This Ewer would be ideal for the Copeland Spode enthusiast who appreciates the supreme quality and artistry exhibited in the finest Early Copeland wares!
