This is a superb African wooden mask. It was part of a large collection w the owner was an avid collector of African tribal art memoribilia. During our research we have been informed the wooden mask is of African origin and dates early to mid 19th century. A curved mask with decoration to the top. Has an embossed nose, mouth and ears. Has an overall size of about 7.5 x 5.5inches. Considering the age, the overall condition is excellent with a chip to the right by the hole with no other areas of major blemishes or restoration. Due to age is subject to wear and ageing as per pictures. Besides being a very collectable and rare African mask from the early to mid 19th century, would also look fabulous displayed.
