This great early boomerang originates from Swan Hill in Victoria and would date to the 1930's or earlier. It does have a date on the back but is illegible. the boomerang is carved by Sam Kerly, a well respected Aborigine from Swan Hill during this period. What is most interesting about this boomerang is the handshake on the front depicting a dark and light hand shake. It is very detailed depiction of Australia including The first settlement. The boomerang measures 70 cm in length and is in great condition. Please make sure to click on "View Sellers other Items" as this week I will be listing a good group of Indigenous art and artifacts. I will be regularly selling these types of items so make me a "Favorite Seller". For this item it will cost $21 USD to post anyw in the world and $9 within Australia.
