WHAT A LOVELY SET OF MID 19th CENTURY SERVING SPOONS! EACH IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of a very good weight indeed and were also used for supping the soup. Here we have a quite exceptional and quite lovely set of solid silver tablespoons of quite sensational gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear. Each is assayed in London and 5 are dated 1841 (year letter f) and 1 for 1843 (year letter h).All have a maker's mark for very good spoon maker William Eaton-refer to Jackson's pocket edition page 80. This is a lovely early Victorian lot and a must have. A really delightful and scarce set! Their length is quite large at 8.75 inches. These lovely spoons are of exceptional quality and each is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver. Pattern is FIDDLE THREAD AND SHELL DOUBLE STRUCK.This is a popular and highly sought after traditional pattern. Weight of actual silver is a sublime 597 grams (19.20 troy ounces),each piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. The condition is superb and they are of superior quality and condition.The bowls are of perfect shape with a thick unworn rim and tip.Each is engraved with a lion rampant crest and always has been,definitely no erasures either. Please note that i have listed many other good items of both modern and antique silver,please do have a look. A truly beautiful,special and most wonderful lot. Would be ideal for making up a canteen of this popular pattern. PERFECT FOR USE ALL YEAR ROUND,DINE IN REAL STYLE!
