WOW. Original and authentic Western Union, Edison manufactured, stock ticker tape machine. My best ever. Comes with cast iron base, original glass dome, and the cleanest, brightest mechanism that I have ever seen. And as close to complete of the four that I've put up for sale on Ebay. I just can't say enough about this one. The base, cast in heavy iron, has a wonderful patinated finish, free from major scratches and chipping to the gold decal letters. And I've never seen one that had either the decal on both sides, or the silver applied Western Union repair service label. Perhaps some of you out t have seen one or the other, but both on the same base? All authentic and wonderfully original. And the subtle crazing to the paint and letters ads so much to the overall appeal of the base and the unit as a whole. The mechanism itself seems to be essentially complete, except for that dang paper roll and spindle. NONE of the four that I have had has had one. Is this reproduced? Somew I heard that but can't tell you w Let me know and I'll post the information for others if you are willing. I must point out that t are also two holes, seen in one of the photos, w it looks like t could have been something mounted on one of the sides below the two vertical coils. Don't know what it could have been, but the holes are t I am guessing once again that this is a 35-A model. T seem to be several models that are very similar, some having parts that others did not, depending on their model and function. Please judge for yourself as to how complete this unit is. You may study as I did the information and photographs at . They seem to have a wealth of information which I found very useful. Now for the best part of the mechanism, it's minty anodized finish. Bright, shiny, virtually untoned, and without major dents, dings, or marring of so many that I have seen. And the blueing on the dark metal pieces and screws is wonderfully intact. I added a couple of pix just to give you an idea of this, it just looks like it's been under the dome all its life. I haven't even cleaned it, it should pop a bit more if you do. Just unmessed with, you know? I'm not even sure it got much use, as the coils and copper connecting wires don't have the accumulated static dirt or grunge I usually see. All in all a super unit. Two factory inspection stamps, one on the base, and one (pictured) on the mechanism itself. Serial number 11862 as seen in the photo. And an original globe, complete with the gooey tape stripe at the bottom. No cracks or chips. A couple of small manufacturing bubbles in the glass that add to the effect. The tape has a couple of crimps w it probably caught on the mechanism when it was lifted out, but it's all t, just folded over. Globe itself measures about 8 3/4" tall, overall the unit stands about 13 1/2" tall. Globe fits properly in base well. A really fine example fit for any collection. I'll bet that it would be an upgrade for many of you that already have one. So give it a whirl! No Paypal for this one, please. T are no returns. This can be packed at Mail Boxes Etc. in Long Beach, CA. They have done it for me before. They charged only $25 for the packing fee, an incidental amount for an item of this type. Postage and required insurance will probably be substantial, some shippers will not insure antiques, or have limits on the amount. I will charge you ACTUAL cost for shipping. The last one cost $180 priority insured with the USPS, from LA to the east coast. For the shipping calculator I guessed at the weight. I don't know exactly how much it will be to YOUR exact city, only that it will be at cost through MBE. You may also have your shipper pick it up in person if you want. If you want to use another packer and shipper that's fine too, also at cost. Checks are held to clear, sales tax in CA is 8.25 % or statement for resale and valid number. Wire transfer OK too.
