We apologize for this but it is obviously beyond our control!! *** This is a beautiful looking time piece by Waltham . Founded by Aaron Dennison and E. Howard, the highly regarded Waltham Watch Company of Waltham , Mass. is one of the grandfathers of U.S. horology, in business from 1850 to 1959 making high quality pocket watches, clocks and wristwatches known the world over. The company adopted the American Waltham name in 1859, having already used such names as Warren , Tracy , Appleton and Boston . The details on this superb rare example are:- It features elegant black enameled numeral numerals and minute markers, original Spade-style hands. The original clearly signed Waltham U.S.A white, porcelain enamel dial is in great condition for its age, free form and chips or deep cracks and is still crisp and clear. The outer glass is in excellent condition considering the timepieces age. Moving on to the beautiful looking 9ct gold filled case, which was also made by renowned case maker Dennison (made case for Rolex, Omega and many more) and is clearly signed inside the case. I would class its condition to be good to excellent for its age, with a few light surface scratches where it has been opened and closed over the years to look at the movement and the expected signs of wear consummate with a c100 year old timepiece. The watches approx size is 71mm from top bow/bottom case, 15mm thick and the diameter is 50mm Turning the watch over I note that the back lid is in lovely / excellent shape. Peeking inside I find a beautiful quality Waltham Mass mechanism which winds and sets while keeping time. It is signed A.W.W.Co Waltham, U.S.A, and serial number 24085758. The inside of the dust cover reads English Make This Case Guaranteed To Wear 10 Years. A lovely VERY collectable RARE time piece. No reserve!
