Beautiful classical landscape drawing, herdsman with cattle in a wooded landscape. (18th Century) Pencil on laid paper with partial watermark of J. Honig & Zoonen. Old ink notation upper left corner, unsigned. Overall condition is excellent. Drawing measures approx 8 3/4" x 10 5/8". Provenance: Ex-collection of Anton Schaller, Vienna (L.173) with his collectors mark verso. Anton Schaller was born in Vienna in 1773 and excelled in portraits, and miniature painting on porcelain. He collected old drawings , especially the Italian school. Thirty years after his death, his sister sold them to the painter Sigmund Landsinger. Please contact me with any questions.
