This instrument with it's red brass brass bell for added sonority, will grace any trumpet players 'armoury' With good fast valves, it is supplied with with 2 sets of slides - 1 for Eb and 1 for D. This instrument is in tune throuout the register using the normal and alternate fingerings that is peculiar to any make of D & Eb trumpet (and their players) It is particularly bright in the upper register and has great projection. Includes a free professional Schilke 16B4 specialist mouthpiece for clarity (which alone costs over £50) This trumpet is supplied without a case as most players use double cases, but for safe carriage, we are supplying it in a budget Bb case - free of charge. For some considerable time, since the demise of the Boosey & Hawkes Company (who set the template for world-wide manufacturing of student musical instruments) huge quantities of sub-standard instruments have flooded the UK market. Many of these have been sold to 'First-time Buyers' of musical instruments - i.e. the parents (or Grand-parents) of young children who are just beginning music lessons. We have lost count of the number of these instruments that have been brought into our shop for repair (sadly, some have been impossible to economically repair) After lengthy discussions with many instrumental teachers, it was agreed that what is needed in a student instrument is durability, good intonation, ease of playing, but most of all, a guaranteed, good value-for-money product. We subsequently spent months liaising with a top Chinese factory who were most willing to make the various design alterations we needed in order to have the quality we wanted for our customers. These changes include better springs in the woodwind, better pads and mouthpieces, strong, higher quality cases etc. When we received the first consignment of samples, they were carefully examined not just by us, but by the instrumental teachers. We were all delighted with the results and so the range of Mayflower Band Instruments was born! We are so confident in the product that we have now extended the range, to include this instrument now listed The Mayflower Band Instrument range is not the cheapest on the market (we have all seen the £79 and £99 Trumpets!) However it is a fact of life that "cheap is not good" in our industry and you really do get what you pay for.
