This is a quite superb wooden oak post box of which: During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the mid period of the 19th century. Dates about c1860 .Of an english origin.Would have been used in a substantial english house during the said period.Wonderful hand carvings to the front, sides and lid with carved text: post box.Hinged lid.Intricate hand carvings. It has an overall height of about 9.75inches. Overall size of about 10.25 x 5.75inches. Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition is excellent and is without any major blemish. All as per pictures.
