Superb Old Okimono Fisherman 12" Bone Carved Very Collectable Display Piece A Very Unusual 12"Tall Okimono Fisherman Hand Carved Ox Bone A superb Okimono standing about a foot (32cm) tall on his base, he is clutching a caught fish in his left hand, and presumably once had a rod in his right. He is in very good condition overall, although there is a chip on each ankle, it would be a straight forward repair in the right hands. His carving is quite detailed in a charming naive way and, because of his size he is made from many pieces, assembled and then with expert hands he was then carved into the fine up-standing gent you see here, many hours of a skilled craftsmans handwork has gone into creating this fisherman. He is a happy looking chap, and would be an excellent conversation piece to add to any collection.
