These are a superb pair of Staffordshire seated hearth dogs with the lustre decoration. During our research we have been informed they certainly date from the period of the 19th century . Certainly a wonderful portrayal of the large Staffordshire seated hearth dogs. A left and a right. Wonderful overall decoration with the hand painted detailing to the faces and bodies with the lustre decoration. . Lustre collars and chains to both. Each has an overall height of about 10.5inches. Base sizes of about .6.5 x 3.75inches. Max overall dia inc. tail of about 8inches. Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is excellent with: one having a series of hairlines to the front by the tail, with one having a minor chip in the same area of a hairline. All as per pictures.
