These are a superb pair of large Staffordshire russet red & white seated spaniel dogs of which: during our research: we have been informed they date mid 19th century: dating about c1860s. Wonderful large pair of Staffordshire russet red & white seated Staffordshire spaniel dogs. Superb colouring & decoration to both. A left and a right. Coloured faces with the yellow eyes with their superb facial portrayals. Gilt collar, lock and chain. Pottery. Wonderful portrayals and colouring of the russet red & white with their gilt decoration to their collars, locks and chains. Each has an overall height of about 12.75inches. Overall base sizes underneath of about 8 x 4.25in ches. Overall dias including curled tails of about 10.5inches. Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is excellent and is not subject to any major blemishes except: minor colour loss, mainly to the gilt with: due to age: overall fine crazing with staining to one at the head area at the rear. All as per pictures.
