A SUPERB, SHARP OCTAHEDRON OF MAGNETITE WITH MUSCOVITE MICA and minor feldspar adhering is featured in this unusual specimen from the noted black tourmaline locale on Timms' Hill in rural Haddam, Connecticut! Found loose in the hematite-rich soil, nicely formed magnetite crystals are uncommon compared to the abundant tourmaline , and would be next to impossible to collect today at the re-graded summer camp digging area.
