An excellent art deco period 'Queen Anne' shaped tea trio (cup, saucer and squared plate) by Shelley, England, in their very popular 'Blue Iris' pattern dating from the late 1920's. The octagonal cup stands two and a half inches in height, the saucer diameter is five and three eighth inches and the plate diameter is six and a quarter inches. The backstamp is that of the scripted within shield 'Shelley, England' one as applied to the factory's wares during the period 1925-1946 with painted pattern number 11561 (entered in the factory pattern books in the year 1927); cup also has shape Registered No.723404 as applicable to the Queen Anne shape. This trio is in excellent condition, each piece ringing clearly and thus confirming the presence of no hidden hairlines; certainly no chips or cracks, nor any fading, rubbing, crazing, fading, discolouration, etc., and no restoration. There is no reserve and our start price is a very reasonable one.
