It bears The London silver hallmark for 1899 and has a presentation inscription on the top which reads

MRS BRYANT

FROM

ADMIRAL SUETER MP

(Murray Fraser Sueter (1872-1960) was a prominent Naval officer and later a long serving Conservative MP ( 1921-19450. He also played a part in the development of the tank during the First World war.

The caddy measures approx 4 1/2 inches (115 mm) wide by 3 inches ( 75mm) deep, by 3 1/4 inches ( 80mm) tall .

It has a lovely classical form, sitting on 4 splayed bracket feet.

It is in good condition with no splits or repairs.

This is a fine silver tea caddy with an interesting provenance.

It would make a great display piece and be a lovely addition to any collection.
