In perfect condition, a superb pair of vintage Murano figurines circa 1950, depicting a King and Queen, both having their original labels. No chips, cracks or scratches other than the wear marks that occur underneath the items from being moved from place to place. This is ommensurate with their age. Blown and ground out pontils. The pair are very heavy, weighing just under 6lbs 14ozs unpacked, the bodies being of solid glass, not hollow blown. The King measures 12 7/8" tall and the Queen 12 1/4". Possibly made by Seguso, as he used a similar label on some of his products, although they could have been made by any one of the better furnaces in production at that time. The king holds a scepter with gold inclusions in his right hand and a glass ball in his left. The queen has her hands clasped in front of her. The white sleeves and collars of each have gold inclusions as do both of the faces and the lower portions of the blue robes. These will make an outstanding addition to any Murano glass collection.
