Kabuki (theater) doll in kneeling pose.
The Red hair representing the Mane of this Lion Dancer Doll is long and full, falling to the waistline at the front, and trailing down to the feet at the back, with length to spare for curling about the feet.

The doll represents a character in a Kabuki play (traditional Japanese Theater)
The face is ceramic with paper-weight eyes, glazed Kabuki Make-up, and closed mouth.
The Kabuki Lion Dancer's costume consists of an inner kimono together with an outer Kimono coat.
The upper inner kimono is gold and blue.
The kimono coat has a peony flower design on an orange background.
The obi(waist band) is made of a crimpy silk.
The outer Kimono coat has a peony flower design of muted reds with pale gold trails on the orange background.
The kimono pantaloons have a stylized flower design of green and greorange blossom with pale gold trails, on a beige background.
The MATERIALS and CONDITION:
This is a vintage doll about 25 years old.
The face and hands are ceramic.
The red mane and kimono are in very good condition with no color fading.
