Superb vintage hallmarked silver desk inkwell, full Birmingham sterling silver hallmark for 1914, made by A & J Zimmerman, engraved " souvenir from R.A.S.C staff, Salisbury plain district 1914-19", a 9x 6" silver stand raised on four feet, inset with two 55mm square glass inkwells, the glass on both inkwells is in superb condition with no evident damage, they both have silver collars and hinged lids which are original with the same hallmarks as the stand, the base weighs 16oz without the glass inkwells, it is wonderful vintage condition with no evident dents or dings, there is one small washer missing from the base [see photographs], I am sorry that the start price is high but with the price of scrap silver today the base alone would melt for the start price.
