This is a magnificent set of sterling silver from the Wallace Silversmiths. Wallace silver dates back to the 1800s, and is known for its intricate patterns and fine design work. This set is made in the "Grand Baroque" pattern, and dates to circa 1941. This is one of the fanciest patterns of silver I have ever come across! The set is marked on the back "Wallace sterling" with an elk in the center. All pieces are marked as such, except for the knives which say "Wallace sterling handle, stainless blade." The set comes in a wonderful silver chest, lined with burgandy velvet (for some reason, the chest is Towle, must have been put in this chest some time during the years).The set consists of the following 63 pieces: 20 teaspoons 10 forks 10 salad forks 10 knives 2 large serving spoons gravy ladle salad server spoon large salad or meat fork butter knife cream spoon (?) other oddly shaped spoon large sharp knife pie or cake server 3 lemon forks This set is in wonderful condition, appears to be used very little. My pictures do not do this any justice! This would be a superb starter silver set, or a wonderful addition to any sterling collection. I am happy to answer any questions you may have!
